uprooted
displaced
transformed
into pulsing mounds
of metal
wire
concrete
devirginized,
but not yet brutalized
towering over the tangled mass
of existences
twenty million strong
towering over the knot of lives
haphazardly strewn
and pouring into the streets--
into the narrow
dripping
alleyways
drenched in the condensation
of lives constantly mingling
yet perpetually refusing
to venture to the point of contact
perhaps one can sequester
the nudge of a misplaced hand
perhaps the jab of a rivalrous shoulder
the depravity
ever present
of a contact
that conjoins
what was once hopelessly unknown.
